The Short Mystery Fiction Society: Markets

This is by no means a complete listing of short mystery fiction publications or anthologies and, in some instances, the information shown here may not be always be current. Markets frequently change and, sadly, publications occasionally have to close their doors and book projects fall through for various reasons. As new information becomes available, we will update this list.

PLEASE NOTE: Before submitting to any market, it is essential to refer to their guidelines and follow them to the letter. Editors have every right to reject an improperly formatted or unsuitable submission -- without even reading it.

You'll find guidelines as well as word length restrictions, genre preferences, and other critical submission requirements at the websites given for each publication or anthology.

We also strongly recommend you read a previous edition or issue or two of the publication before submitting to get a feel for what is required.
